The Coach House
The Coach House is adjacent to the Castle and is the best self catering County Clare has to offer, and one of the only Irish castles for rent to groups of up to 20+. It is a magnificently restored 19th Century Coach House of particular character and size (in excess of 2500 sq.ft.), with its wooden-beamed ceilings and internal stone walls.
 
Irish self catering properties are usually modern holiday homes, but Ballyhannon Castle and Coach House is a self catering County Clare gem. Irish self catering vacations are more popular now than ever, and while you can stay in a holiday home anywhere in the world, how often will you get the chance to stay in Irish castles for rent on an exclusive basis, i.e. to your group exclusively!
 
Guests can get married in the Castle and hold their reception (meal and festivities) in the open-plan Coach House where up to 70 can be seated for the wedding meal. Bigger numbers can also have buffet-style catering in the Castle or Coach House, or erect marquees on the surrounding lawns, allowing guests to move freely between the Coach House and the marquee, when the Castle and/or Coach House is then the quieter place to relax, chat and mingle, away from the music and dancing in the marquee.
While the physical structure of the Castle is challenging for anyone with any physical disabilities, the Coach House provides disabled self catering accommodation.
The open-plan area of the ground floor consists of a kitchen, large living
room (with stove) and dining conservatory. There are separate reading and TV lounges (and the TV lounge is the room which can also be adapted to cater for disabled self catering accommodation, as it has its own lavatory, wash hand basin and electric shower).

Sleeping Accommodation: 10+ between upstairs (2 double bedrooms, and 1 family bedroom which sleeps four, i.e. with double bed and bunk beds), while downstairs the TV Lounge converts to a double bedroom with en-suite for those requiring disabled self catering accommodation. Futons are also available for extra bedding.
